Yoram Ben-Israel
Yoram Ben-Israel is a multi-sector entrepreneur, investor, and operator with deep experience across oil and commodities trading, private investments, real estate development, and technology ventures.
About me
Yoram Ben-Israel is a serial entrepreneur, investor, tech startup CEO, and real estate developer based in London, United Kingdom. He is known for building and scaling complex businesses, assembling high-performing teams, and executing strategies that drive sustained growth and operational excellence.
In the 2000s, Yoram moved to London and became a managing partner of a private investment company which specialised in equities, bonds, and residential property in the City.
Currently, Yoram lives in London and is focused on oil & commodities trading, including oil trading exposure, market strategy, and global supply dynamics.
Yoram Ben-Israel is a London-based entrepreneur, investor, and founder with a proven track record across energy markets, global trading, real assets, and technology-driven ventures.
Having built his entrepreneurial foundation in the 1990s, Yoram founded a distribution company that became the exclusive distributor of leading international brands, including Fila, Wilson Sporting Goods, and Calvin Klein underwear across CIS countries. This early success demonstrated his ability to identify market opportunities, build strong commercial partnerships, and scale distribution platforms across multiple regions.
Alongside this, he developed exposure to commodities and oil-related trading environments, gaining deep insight into international markets, logistics, and cross-border deal-making, experience that would later shape his long-term focus on energy and commodities.
In the early 2000s, Yoram relocated to London, where he became Managing Partner of a private investment company specialising in equities, bonds, and residential property in the City. During this period, he refined his investment approach while continuing to build operational expertise across multiple asset classes.
Over time, his work expanded into multi-sector investments, including real estate, mining, infrastructure, and trading-related ventures. Across these activities, Yoram has consistently focused on building strong organisations, recruiting and developing top-tier talent, implementing disciplined operational strategies, and maintaining high-performance cultures.
In 2008, against the backdrop of financial volatility, Yoram founded Wagon Service Group. The company secured long-term contracts for the washing, painting, and maintenance of locomotives and railway carriages, later expanding into large-scale repair operations.
Through strategic growth, acquisitions, and partnerships, including collaboration with Deutsche Bahn on modernisation approaches, the business scaled significantly. Under Yoram’s leadership, Wagon Service Group evolved into a major industrial platform, built on operational efficiency, workforce scale, and long-term contractual stability.
Today, Wagon Service Group and its associated operations employ approximately 9,000 staff and generate revenues of around $400 million, reflecting Yoram’s ability to build, scale, and sustain large, complex organisations.

My journey
Yoram Ben-Israel was born in Israel. Yoram graduated from Guildhall University, now better known as City University London where he earned an LLB (Business Law) degree. He is also a member of YPO (the Young Presidents Organisation), having first joined in 2009.
Building his entrepreneurial acumen throughout the 1990s, Yoram founded a distribution company which acted as an exclusive distributor of leading clothing and sports brands such as Fila, Wilson Sporting Goods, and Calvin Klein underwear in CIS countries.
Yoram was also a partner in a multitude of investment projects revolving around industries such as commercial real estate and mining.
In the 2000s, Yoram sold his clothing distribution business, and decided to move to London. The entrepreneur began the 21st Century as the managing partner of a private investment company which specialised in a number of key fields, including equities, bonds, and residential property in the City.
Against the backdrop of financial volatility, Yoram Ben-Israel founded Wagon Service Group in 2008. The firm won tenders for washing and painting locomotives and railway carriages with investment obligations. The company initially held 15-year contracts which started in 2009, and has since won many new tenders within the industry.
Growing further into the rail maintenance landscape, the group later acquired some of the largest repair plants in Russia in order to branch into conducting repairs alongside essential maintenance.
Following its growth, Wagon Service Group, together with the maintenance business, employs 9,000 staff and is turning over $350 million.
Today, Yoram lives in London and continues to develop residential properties for sale and to let.
Yoram has a keen interest in drumming, and it’s this love for music that led the entrepreneur towards founding his most recent innovative venture: Ampollo. Taking the form of an app for musicians to create and share music videos, Ampollo promises to provide the tools for casual musicians to reach new audiences and market themselves in a more impactful and cost-effective way.
Ampollo will be the first platform of its kind to enable a global community of musicians to practise instruments, record videos, collaborate, and socialise with fellow talented musicians whilst using some of the industry’s most advanced and immersive technology.
